Botox Injections

Botox is the trade name for a substance known as botulinum toxin, which is a neurotoxic substance extracted from a type of bacteria called Clostridium botulinum. This bacterium is known to cause food poisoning.

Botox works by weakening and reducing muscle contractions, as it inhibits and blocks the release of acetylcholine, the chemical messenger that signals muscles to contract.

Botox is used for both cosmetic and therapeutic purposes. Before injection, it is purified to prevent any harm and to ensure safe and positive results across its various medical and aesthetic applications.

Botox injections are not considered a suitable method for filling or adding volume to the face. They do not fill existing wrinkles; instead, they work by weakening nerve signals, which relaxes the muscles responsible for the appearance of wrinkles.
